Your Black Friday just got a whole lot better. After Erykah Badu recently teased a new project with "Phone Down" and a steller remix of Drake's "Hotline Bling," the celebrated R&B artist has locked in a Nov. 27 release date for But You Caint Use My Phone.
The mixtape is Badu's first proper release in five years, and will come out exclusively through iTunes/Apple Music first before rolling out to other digital services Dec. 4. The title But You Caint Use My Phone is a reference to Badu's 1997 single, "Tyrone," and features a phone-inspired tracklist ranging from "Dial’afreaq" to "Mr. Telephone Man." New Edition would be proud. According to a press release, "each song makes reference to telephones and our own reliance on staying inter-connected." #Deep. The project is fully produced by Zach Witnessin and will also introduce listeners to Erykah Badu's new 'TRap & B' sound. Cain't wait.
