If you didn't already know, Meow The Jewels is a go. The Kickstarter project, which is a re-creation of Run The Jewels 2 made entirely of cat sounds, exceeded its goal of $45,100 by over $20,000 (all of the money from the project goes to the families of Mike Brown and Eric Garner). While on tour in Phoenix, Run The Jewels was finally able to meet the fan who started the Kickstarter campaign, Sly Jones.
In the video by the Phoenix New Times, El-P, Killer Mike and Sly Jones smoke weed (marijuana was the original inspiration for Meow The Jewels) in an undisclosed alley and talk a little about how the project came together. The group kicked around some other stoner thoughts too, like whether or not cats are space aliens. After the smoke session, they went to Run The Jewels' show at the Crescent Ballroom where the two brought Sly on stage to thank him. Check out the full video above.
