The Roots longtime manager Rich Nichols has passed away today at the age of 55. There has been no official word on the cause of death, but several artists have taken to Twitter to mourn his untimely passing.
Nichols was a former jazz DJ who became the manager of the group in 1992 and was a major factor in their longterm success in the industry. Along with The Roots, Nichols also worked with the likes of Jill Scott, Musiq Soulchild, and many more.
