Call him Dr. Combs. Sean "Diddy" Combs gave the commencement speech at Howard University last Saturday. He also received a honorary degree in humanities at the ceremony.
"We are honored to have Mr. Combs serve as our speaker," Interim President Wayne A.I. Frederick said. "He sat in classrooms where our students sit, walked 'The Yard,' and like many students, his entrepreneurial spirit was sparked at Howard. We know he will inspire our class to work hard and to always strive for excellence."
Even with the controversy surrounding the announcement, Diddy's carrying on and telling his story of success. Along with Diddy, speeches were also be made by Wolf Blitzer, Benny Golson, Clive Callender, and Indra K. Nooyi. —Zach Frydenlund
