UPDATE 11/19/2013 5:43PM: Revolt TV reports that they can "now reveal OutKast will be reuniting in 2014 for performances across the US... with sources telling [them] to expect the Atlanta group to rock multiple festival dates in the coming year."
The shows will mark the duo’s first appearances onstage together since 2004, with sources telling REVOLT to expect the Atlanta group to rock multiple festival dates in the coming year. Though details are scant (the members' secretive nature keeps even our sources tight-lipped), we’re told the reunion is currently set to exist solely in the live setting, with no new album plans in sight, for now.
Complex has reached out for comment and will update as the story develops. Watch the full Revolt.tv report below:
OutKast is reportedly in talks to perform at Coachella 2014. Sources have told Billboard that the plan would be for them to begin a festival run at Coachella, which begins April 11 next year, and then follow this up with additional dates across the country. However, there has been conflicting information thus far as to how likely this reunion will be, with one source saying there have "been some conversations" while another source has said that the reunion is "all systems go."
Both Big Boi and André 3000 have been asked about a possible OutKast reunion in interviews before, but neither has seemed willing to commit to the idea thus far. The group has been on hiatus since the releas of Idlewild in 2006. Meanwhile, Big Boi released his latest solo album, Vicious Lies And Dangerous Rumors, last year, while André is believed to be working on a solo album for next year.
