"One of my favorite records was 'Murder Was The Case.' It was just such a real story that he painted. Something I could also relate to seeing growing up. The first time I heard the album, I had just bought a bunch of CDs from the old school '40 CDs for a penny' ads in the mail. That ended up being one out of the 10 CDs I picked out, maybe the only West Coast CD I had besides The Chronic. I grew liking to the album based off Snoop just being so cool coming from where we came from. He was balacing the West Coast streetlife he was a product of with the fun party lifestyle that we live out here."
