October's Very Own has become more than just Drake's mostly Toronto-based crew. It's a brand, it's a movement, and its grown immensely since it started. We first started hearing about it when Drake started getting national attention in 2009 because Drake would shout it out in his songs. In 2012, Drake, Noah "40" Shebib and Oliver El-Khatib founded OVOSound, a record label currently distributed by Warner Bros. Records.
Currently, OVOSound has released two major projects, PARTYNEXTDOOR's self-titled mixtape earlier this year, and Drake's most recent album, Nothing Was The Same. Currently, Drake, Majid Jordan, PartyNextDoor, and Nineteen85 are all signed to OVOSound, but the crew spans more than just the signed artists. There are the creative directors, affiliates, the REPSUP crew, and more, that have been down with Drake and OVO to varying degrees. It's a complicated mix of names and faces but we pieced it together as best we could, here's A Guide to Who's Who in OVO.
