Jack White likes to keep busy. The former White Stripes leader runs his own record label and contributes to a number of side projects. After releasing his debut solo album last year, he's already 20 songs into his new record.

Still, it's not totally clear when the new project will be completed. "I don't know if it'll come out this year or not," White tells Rolling Stone. "I don't know when I'll finish it, because the last one kinda came together so strangely."

And he says it'll be multifaceted like Blunderbuss. "It's definitely not one sound. It's definitely several. I don't pick my style and then write a song. I just write whatever comes out of me, and whatever style it is is what it is, and it becomes something later."

There you have it.
