Lil B Breaks Down His 25 Most Essential Songs

It's crazy to think that we weren't even talking about Lil B a year ago. "We" meaning: journalists, bloggers, Twitterati, teenagers, and critics. The same groups of people who haven't been able to stop talking about the Berkeley, Calif. rapper since his mid-2010 breakthrough. Tonight, he hits the stage at NYC's Highline Ballroom—a follow-up to the show that solidified his star power during the height of last summer's Based God-mania—and though he has hundreds of songs to choose from, we're willing to bet the majority of his set will consist of what we felt were the 25 most essential Lil B songs. The man himself broke down the stories behind each record (and video, if applicable) for Complex, making this the most official list out there. How are you going to say Waka and then Diss B. I fuck with both but Waka has the lyricism of a very high very drunk 15 year old. Lil B has some great lyrical shit along with his pretty bitch shit. Check out Age of Information, Sending Shots, oh yeah and All I know ft. Waka and Soulja. Sir your opinion on the Based God will most definatly change except on the last one that's just a fun song!

Hahahaha AG you're ridiculous for saying you 'fucks' with Soulja Boy and then call B garbage. Lil' B has a far greater 'hip-hop' catalogue and as far as that swag, pop, dance, ignorant music -- B does it better than Soulja. Why do you think Soulja signed him, 'swagger' jacked him and started rhyming exactly like him? I'm not hating on Soulja Boy, or your opinion-- but it's almost retarded to say that Soulja Boy is something you 'fucks' with and B isn't, when Soulja has turned into a watered down, less intelligent Lil B, who can't even make a decent hip-hop track like B can. Just take another look at B's catalogue and see how versatile he is. This muthafucka encompasses East, West, South and even Northwest shit. He can do a spoken word album too. Trust me, I doubted his strength as an artist and I too was fooled by his first impression, but once I realized what he is doing, how he is 'playing' the game and tricking all of us, while having fun, it's impossible to hate. Stay BASED, stay positive man. It gets really played out hating on someone if you don't like them/their music when they are doing what they love and making money for it. I used to be one of those 'golden age' 'backpack' 'east-coast' dudes, but it gets tiring trying to prove why Wu-Tang is the best. Sometime in your life you just have to give up hating on a dude and appreciate him or just move on, ignore his buzz and stop posting on anything dealing with him. By the way, 'Angels Exodus' and 'Glassface' will be legendary.
