Super Bowl-Themed Weed Now on Sale in California

Super Bowl themed marijuana is being sold at medical marijuana dispensaries in California's Bay Area.

People in California (and everywhere else) will be smoking a few bowls while watching Super Bowl 50 tonight, but the really festive fans will be sparking buds honoring the team they're pulling for.

Bay Area dispensary Bloom Room has released two strains for sale in time for the big game: "Bronco Mile High," and "Carolina Cam Crush."

The Daily Beast reports that the strains are going for $20 a gram, which is higher than the national average of around $13 a gram, but surprisingly not that inflated when you consider Super Bowl tickets are going for $4,600, and a 30-second Super Bowl commercial costs $5 million.

It only makes sense that this would be a particularly baked Super Bowl. California has medical marijuana, which, lets face it, is basically legal marijuana. Denver, of course, legalized recreational weed a couple years back.

It's not the first NFL-themed weed, either. A shop in Colorado named strains after Peyton Manning and Eli Manning way back in 2013.

A news release by Bloom Room describes the Bronco Mile High as, "visually compelling with beautiful flowers and a colourful radiant patina.  The first aroma notes suggest an Aspen forested mountain-side with hints of pine and citrus, conjuring up a sunset in the Colorado Rockies," and describes the effect as a "full-body warm tingle."

Carolina Cam Crush, meanwhile, is described as, "a youthful dynamic strain that is visually a deep, intense green evidencing a vigor and an unapologetic aggressive 'in your face' style," and "strong aroma notes of cinnamon and chocolate."
