It's entirely understandable that, if new to dance music and culture, the name "Armand van Helden" only rings a bell as being "the half of Duck Sauce that's not A-Trak." If needing a history lesson in just who house music icon van Helden is, Ministry of Sound intend to help further things along on February 15, 2015 with the release of Masterpiece, a three-volume, 43-track journey through roughly four decades of music that have inspired his iconic career.

DJ Fresh has been on an interesting run over the last two years; huge singles like "Earthquake," "Dibby Dibby Sound," and "Flashlight" have been the building blocks for what's sure to be an interesting album-length project for Ministry of Sound dropping sometime in 2015 (we hope). His latest single "Gravity," which features MOBO and Brit Award winner Ella Eyre's powerful vocals, throws back to the jungle sound with amens and a vibe that matches up to the soul of Ella's voice perfectly.

In April of 2013 I was ecstatic when I heard that DJ Bailey had been added to the Ministry of Sound Radio lineup. He was one of the best things about drum & bass on BBC Radio 1Xtra, and when his show was cancelled in April of 2012, that bothered me. This morning, Bailey released a statement via his website giving his "farewell" to Ministry of Sound. Apparently they've "made a decision to explore other musical avenues," which leaves Bailey without that prime outlet.

Last year, the Ministry of Sound made headlines when they famously defended their worth against Spotify. The historic brand argued that their compilation and mix albums we're their own creative projects and thusly protected by copyright and owed royalties.
