Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Honey Gets a Classic Remix From Designer Justin Mensinger

Watch designer Justin Mensinger get inspired by a bottle of Jack Daniel's Tennessee Honey to create a set of custom, must-have patchwork style pieces.

Designers are more than just creators, they’re visionaries with a plan—sketching, simulating, and stitching together a variety of materials to make a (fashion) statement. And while there’s typically one name etched across a clothing label, it takes a team to bring that vision to life. Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Honey believes in the future, but even more so in the creatives designing its blueprint. To prove it, they announced the launch of the Classic Remix Fashion Grant last year, giving burgeoning designers the chance to earn money to further their brands.

As one of the grant’s first recipients, upcycler and designer Justin Mensinger recently caught up with Complex inside his Los Angeles studio to show how Jack Daniel’s support has helped further his cause. That includes Jack Daniel’s inviting him to work as one of the lead designers for its 2022 Classic Remix platform, which gives burgeoning designers an opportunity to take a classic fashion item and remix it by

modern-day standards. Jack Daniel’s has made a pledge to match 100% of sales from the purchased pieces to create fashion grants and award them to emerging fashion designers.

In this video, you’ll learn how past generations fuel the West Coast-based designer’s craftsmanship and see what it looks like to sit back and watch a master work.

If you’re a designer on the rise, looking to dress the world in your creations, apply for the Classic Remix Fashion Grant here.*
