Earlier this week, a zoo keeper at the Cincinnati Zoo shot a gorilla named Harambe to protect a child who got into his cage, and it seems everyone has something to say about it. Animal rights activists started a petition to hold the parents of the child accountable. His family released a statement encouraging people to donate to the zoo to compensate for the loss, according to CBS. Even the famous primatologist Jane Goodall weighed in, sharing an email to the zoo's director expressing that she disapproves of the decision.

And, apparently, so do the people behind the porn site xHamster.com. According to Cosmopolitan, the site is offering to pay the expenses necessary to relocate the remaining gorillas in the zoo to a wildlife refuge.

"We are against beautiful creatures like Harambe being held in captivity and the senseless killing of this beautiful creature is unacceptable," xHamster.com spokesperson Alex Hawkins told Cosmopolitan. "The only way to avoid this in the future is to transfer the rest of these magnificent animals to a wildlife refuge so they can live the rest of their lives in peace."

The connection between porn and gorilla welfare isn't too clear, but Hawkins does bring up a good point. Everybody's been debating whether or not Harambe should have been shot, but maybe we should be questioning whether he and other animals like him should have been in the zoo in the first place.

XHamster did not immediately return Complex's request for comment.
