There’s a Very Real Possibility Sex Robots May Try to Kill You in the Future

An Australian cybersecurity expert warns sex robots will one day be used to murder innocent people.

Having a sex robot seems like a decent idea for a lonely person, all things considered. But that idea gets thrown out the window when your pleasure bot turns into a bloodthirsty, murderous lunatic, capable of spilling your guts out onto your living room floor.

That's a distinct possibility in the future, according to a cybersecurity scientist who fears how easily these robots can be corrupted by humans. Dr. Nick Patterson, a cybersecurity lecturer at Deakin University in Australia, believes the more advanced that sex robots become, the bigger threat they pose to the people who derive pleasure from them.

“Hackers can hack into a robot or a robotic device and have full control of the connections, arms, legs, and other attached tools like in some cases knives or welding devices," said Patterson. "Often these robots can be upwards of 200 pounds, and very strong. Once a robot is hacked, the hacker has full control and can issue instructions to the robot."

You'd have to be into some seriously kinky shit to go out and purchase a sex robot that comes with knives or welding devices attached, but most global citizens are aware of rampant hacking problems around the world. Fear of killer robots is not exactly new—the original Terminator movie is approaching its 33rd anniversary—but the combination of advanced tech and hacking is certainly frightening.

"The last thing you want is for a hacker to have control over one of these robots," said Patterson. "Once hacked they could absolutely be used to perform physical actions for an advantageous scenario or to cause damage."

Perhaps one way to avoid this problem would be to keep your sex bot in an offline mode, unable to be reached by hackers without a digital connection. This feels like it should be the default option, because who in the world would want to connect their robot online and announce to all their friends and loved ones that they're seeking comfort from a sex machine? Then again, if you're turning to one in the first place, maybe you're undeterred by shame the sort of person who feels comfortable hitting the share button on that Pornhub video they just watched.

Hopefully your desire to keep your blowjob machine updated to iOSex version 6.9 doesn't lead to your jugular being sliced open. Sex robots may be low on the priority list for hackers at the moment, but if the technology continues to get better, watch out, because the revenge of the actual turbo thots will be upon us.
