New York City's menswear mainstay Carson Street, has announced it will be closing this summer. When former lawyers Brian Trunzo and Matt Breen opened the store on Crosby Street in 2013, it quickly became a go-to shop for dudes looking for a curated selection of quality pieces or just a cool place to hang and talk shop.

"When our doors opened in March 2013, we had one goal: to bring something new to the men’s clothing market, both in New York City and around the world," Breen said in a press release. "We approached the business from a 'fan-first' perspective, which fueled our desire to continuously bring new product to the market, find and cultivate new brands and relationships, and keep Carson Street interesting to its loyal, amazing customers."

Carson Street underwent a rebranding earlier this year to make its space and its offerings more refined. The store was relocated to the other side of SoHo, and nearly doubled in size. In February, it also launched its own line, Deveaux, which was showcased at New York Fashion Week: Men’s. But, shortly after the rebranding, Trunzo announced that he would be leaving to pursue other projects.

According to WWD, Carson Street will officially close on June 30. Its line Deveaux was picked up by several other retailers like United Arrows, Totokaelo, and Spruce, and its Spring 2017 collection will still be presented this July.

"I believe the best way that I can make a difference in this industry, as well as honor our loyal customers, is to continue putting forth a vision of how I believe men should approach luxury and designer clothing," Breen said in the release. "I am thrilled to now have more time to thoughtfully consider and design Deveaux."
