Pigalle is on the receiving end of a ton of press lately and this mini-documentary from Collect & Curate is another spyglass into the life of the brand's founder and figurehead, Stephane Ashpool. The very insular nature of Pigalle, with its emphasis on being comprised and followed by people who live in the actual Pigalle neighborhood, gets a lot of attention. Ashpool even presented his most recent S/S 16 collection in the Paris school he once attended and says that he's turned Paris into a "village." He talks about his mother, who he calls a "soldier" and lets us know that everyone else in the posse has strong mothers as well. MOM SQUAD STAND UP.

Talking about his design process, Ashpool says he mostly just sticks to an idea moving from the people who will wear the clothes to the color palette and how they should be presented to an audience. Having the idea is easy, he says, but sticking to it is another challenge altogether. For all the worthy attention Pigalle gets, this is probably the best look at things as they are now, so take a few minutes and here about it from the man himself.
