While Kim Kardashian's new book Selfish has surprised some reviewers with its self-aware content, it has not converted everyone into being fans of her or her wardrobe choices. During a book signing at a Barnes & Noble in New York City, a group of animal rights activists posed as supporters so that they could get closer to Kim. When she thanked them for getting the book and tried to sign a copy, they pulled out homemade posters and began to berate her for supporting the fur industry and killing animals.

Security quickly removed the protestors while Kim smiled and moved on to the next person in line, but that person was also a protestor and was filming the entire awkward encounter. "Can you make it out to all the animals that were killed for you to wear a fur coat?," said another protestor in the video acquired by ANIMAL along with a photo of one of the protest posters. It is unclear how many times this happened during the signing, but you can hear actual Kim fans moan as another man asks the author if she knows how many animals it takes to make her clothing.
