Italian Street Artist RUN's "Parabola Di G" Exhibition Comes to Howard Griffin Gallery

RUN takes gallery visitors on a journey through a "surreal landscape" with his drawings and sculptural installation.

Over the summer, we covered a solo exhibition of Giacomo "RUN" Bufarini's work at Hang Up Gallery in London called "Dance Master." This month, RUN will head to Howard Griffin Gallery for an exhibition and sculptural installation inspired by Homer's Odyssey, entitled "Parabola di G." A parabola, according to the gallery, is "a simple story used to illustrate a moral or spiritual lesson," but it is also a word used to describe "a symmetrical open plane curve, such as the path of a projectile under the influence of gravity."

The press release for the exhibition explains the concept beautifully, so we'll just quote that here:

Born from the wreckage of a comet, G finds himself lost in a surreal landscape. He embarks on an odyssey that carries him through deserts, islands, seas and mountains, meeting mythical creatures and fantastical characters. At the beginning of his journey, G discovers the hat of imagination, allowing him to change form and shape at will. He realizes he has a purpose, though he has not yet found what it is. The exhibition explores ideas of imagination and creativity through a charged story applicable to modern life, employing a host of metaphorical characters in highly imaginative and often surreal scenes.  The story on paper is brought to life and given increased meaning through a large scale installation of sculpture and painting throughout the gallery.

A limited edition book will be released to coincide with the exhibition, which opens on Nov. 27 and runs through Dec. 24. For more info, check out the Howard Griffin Gallery website.
