For a new book titled Orgasm, photographers Linda Troeller and Marion Schneider interviewed women from around the world about moments of climax during sexual stimulation. They also took photos of 25 women in what the Huffington Post refers to as "a variety of sexually charged scenarios," showing the diverse reactions of the subjects during orgasm as a way of "eliminating the stigma and shame too often associated with the topic."

Art critic Jerry Saltz is quoted on Linda Troeller's website as saying that the series of photographs are incredible, and that he likes the "very straight, almost-documentary aspect of her work." Saltz adds that "women’s mysteries, when explored by artists, will change the way the world looks and the way we look at the world."

"Eroticism is no longer associated solely with 'sex,' but it is a vital 'turn on to life,'" Troeller told Huffington Post. She and Schneider purposefully shot women finding pleasure alone and in ways that were about themselves, not stylized pornographic shots made for men to enjoy. They also wanted to focus on the energy that an orgasm brings to the women who experience them. "One woman developed a system of touching herself to orgasm and then blessing herself with that vibrant energy, imagining it spreading as white light onto her arms and legs," said Troeller. "She created a kind of ritual to potentially enhance her aura and energy."
