Street artist/comedian Hanksy has people from New York to Los Angeles rolling in the streets with his punny pop culture street art. This low-profile tagger is a master of the mash-up, and his work abounds with great pairings, some obvious (Johan Chill) and others absurdly creative (“in bread” King Joffrey).
“It’s lowbrow, silly, trivial humor,” Hanksy told the New York Times. “I never thought, when I put up my first image, that I would be where I am today. It just blows my mind.”
From dropping out of law school to selling out art shows, Hanksy is rapidly becoming one of America’s best loved artists.
