Artist Rebecca Cooper has given a naughty makeover to the cherished childhood kaleidoscope. Her imagery recalls the collage crafting techniques employed by that kid-friendly toy, but her subject matter is for mature audiences only.
Instead of brightly colored butterflies or gardens of flowers, these images feature things like girl-on-girl action, classic heterosexual fellatio, and full-on orgies. The infinite character of Cooper's pieces give the impression of endless lustful desire and pleasure without reprieve. The artist displays her erotic works as a wall installation connected like cogs on a wheel, which is perhaps a remark on the “factorization of the modern porn industry.”
