On November 30 of last year,Ai Weiwei announced that he would be leaving a fresh bouquet of flowers in a bicycle basket outside of the No. 258 Caochangdi studio every morning until he "regained the right to travel freely." The artist began the "With Flowers" Flickr photostream as a way to document the protest, sharing photos of the bouquets and wide shots of the bike near the studio's gate.

The protest is now it's fifth month, and others have joined in by using the #WithFlowers hashtag and flower installations of their own.
