Gent-based street artist ROA put the finishing touches on a massively proportioned baby seal this week. The piece is located in central Nelson, New Zealand, on the back of the Indian Café. ROA spent four days erecting his seal using deep blues tempered by pale grays. The creature, who appears distressed, cramped and uncomfortable, is the first element of a larger mural that will dominate the southern wall of Whitby House. ROA has not publicly stated what other animals will appear in the work, but word on the street is that he’s sticking to a marine theme.
