As one of the four nominees for Turner Prize 2013, David Shrigley created and exhibited this piece entitled "Life Model" at Building 80-81 in Derry~Londonderry, North Ireland. The space was designed to resemble a college art studio with easels around the perimeter, and at the center stood a tall, disproportioned nude sculpture with animatronic eyes and the ability to pee in a bucket positioned in front of it (censored above). Visitors were invited to paint the figure as they would a real life-model and the walls were covered in those studies and sketches.
Guardian art critic Adrian Searle viewed and analyzed Shrigley's work as well as the works exhibited by Laure Prouvost, Tino Sehgal, and Lynette Yiadom-Boakye:
