Curated by contemporary artist Chris Johanson, the Craft and Folk Art Museum (CAFAM) will host an art exhibition that celebrates the process of artmaking. Artifacts of a Life Lived by the Living (To Live) will include artists from various disciplines, all considering the "meditative rituals" of creating and how art helps "sustain a balance" in their lives.
Artists Kal Spelletich, Alex Cohen, Alicia McCarthy, Kutmah, and Sue Tompkinsamong others were hand chosen by Johanson to participate in this exhibition. He calls them beautiful people in the sea of life" and says that they are artists who "create with intention to be in rhythm with the world." The artists will contribute site-specific installations, video, sound, paintings, drawings, and movement pieces. Interactive pieces range from a non-visual walking tour led by legally blind artist Carmen Papalia, to a video installation by Kal Spelletichthat places projections of visitors' heads among the clouds.
