This summer, Lyonstate has released a new in-house collection of shirts, shorts and pants. To show off these new goods, they shot a lookbook in the backwoods of Alabama. This kind of lookbook and these kinds of clothes always get me. They make me want to move down south, like, way south, and live amongst the Spanish moss, humidity, bayous and women who have thick, slow as molasses accents. Shit like this makes me think the South is this magical place, where time and worries disappear. Who doesn’t want to get on a boat with a southern belle, lounge in gingham and denim short shorts, drink sweet tea and shit? It almost makes you forget about all the institutionalized racism and the specter of slavery that forever haunts them.
