Hello Brooklyn, J.Crew Is Coming to Town

No more tips to Manhattan or New Jersey.

None

J.Crew is spreading its selection of slim-cut chinos, garment-dyed shirts, and partnership collections to a new strange, foreign land: Brooklyn. There might be more J.Crew stores in New York City than you can count on your hands, but the retailer has yet to open an outpost in the culture-filled borough. Until now, that is.

J.Crew top-dog and CEO Mickey Drexlerconfirmed this news to WWD in a statement:

None

The brand, synonymous with bringing reasonably-priced menswear to the average person, wanted to do exactly just that—reach its shopper. "It's been quite clear over last few years that a lot of our customers live there," Drexler said, "In fact, a fair amount of our headquarters team members live there, and we knew it pretty well."

Now, Brooklyn residents won't have to sludge into Manhattan—or even worse, New Jersey—to score themselves the latest washed shirts and oxford-cloth suits. The Crew will open a shop in Cobble Hill at 151 Court St. in early 2014. Get your J.Crew cards ready, #menswear is on its way.
