Leonardo DiCaprio Raises over $38 Million with Christie's Auction

Ballin' like the Great Gatsby

While The Great Gatsbyisn't living up to the hype for some critics, Leonardo DiCaprio is still the man and is breaking records, this time at Christie's auction house. DiCaprio organized "The 11th Hour," a charity auction to raise money for wildlife conservation around the world. Included in the auction were pieces by Takashi Murakami, Zeng Fanzhi, Joe Bradley, Sergej Jensen, and Sterling Ruby among others.

The auction surpassed its predicted totals of $15 to $20 million dollars and raised a total of $38.8 million dollars for DiCaprio's initiative, setting 13 world auction records and seeing nine pieces sell for over $1 million dollars.
