Hot rods and rock & roll have similar roots. The youths of each subculture garnered a DIY ethic and the need to rebel against whatever force they felt was holding them back. We're glad they did, because we're left with awesome years to look back on, and there might not be two more iconic brands to each culture than Levi's and Fender.

To commemorate the contributions that each brand gave to American culture of the 1950s,Levi's Vintage Clothing put together an exhibit that features an accurate replica of a 1957 Fender Stratocaster along with a customized jean jacket and great pair of jeans with a leather back pocket.

Take a look through the pics and resist the urge to tell someone to "F off," and drive off fast.
