"Postcards of now." That's how Marc Seguin, a Canadian artist who's currently showing at Mike Weiss Gallery, describes his charcoal and oil work. He's got a wily, wry sense of humor tackling subjects as broad as art and as narrow as controversial billionaire Roman Abromovich. The Ontario-born artist has titled the collected works My Century (An Illustrated Guide for Aliens), tongue-in-cheek for certain but also indicative of his type of social critique. Each and every piece arrests motion and prompts delightful response.
Seguin's work is up through October 13, 2012.
