It was announced this past January that London was to host its own menswear fashion weekend, and it looks like a schedule has been set. The inaugural London Collections will run from June 15 to June 17.

A mix of heritage brands, up-and-comers and contemporary labels will show their new spring/summer 2013 collections. Savile Row will host presentations, while designer Richard Nicoll will show his first menswear collection. Esquire and Mr Porter, GQ and Calvin Klein, Louis Vuitton, Spencer Hart and Tom Ford are also set to host events.

This marks the first time menswear designers will have a week to themselves to showcase their collections. Until this new initiative, they've had to fight over a day-long schedule at the end of the four days dedicated to womenswear during London Fashion week. Both Paris and Milan host menswear fashion weeks twice a year.

According to the Telegraph, the new menswear committee is headed by GQ Editor Dylan Jones and Chairman of the British Fashion Council, Harold Tillman. Apparently, rapper Tinie Tempah has also signed up to be an ambassador for the event.

Mark your calendars now and let's hope the runway shows are live streamed.
