Inside Sweden's ICE HOTEL

French artist Antoine Weygand and the architect Roland Toupet designed this year's room 339.

Sweden's ICEHOTEL, located in Jukkasjärvi and now in its 22nd season, exists every winter as an "ephemeral art project." The entire structure is built from scratch each year. Building begins in November, and this year the hotel features 1 Deluxe suite, 16 Art suites, 20 ice rooms, 8 snow rooms and 2 group rooms.

One of the art suites in the current iteration, ceremoniously named "Diamond Genesis," was built by French artist Antoine Weygand and the architect Roland Toupet. The space features a chiseled ice bed surrounded by crystalline walls of brick. So Icy! (Sorry). Click the thumbs to check out the room. [Architizer]
