Alex MacNaughton, who has already published three books on London's street art scene, turns his camera to the Big Smoke's tattooed population for his latest project. The simply titled London Tattooscollects a wide swath of people — from artists to bankers — all handsomely decorated. As a photography, MacNaughton has a special talent in capturing personality.
With a balance of clothed (covered) shots to go along with the tattoos, the portraits in London Tattoos are especially successful in sharing the universality of the art through people of all walks of life. A second volume is planned for 2012.
