Who inspires your style? Everyone on the L train who has the looks like they're trying to get in the club while also being comfortable.
What city has the best style? New York! Just look at people who ride the subway. People in transit keep it real and fly at the same.
What movie best captures your style? Spy movies are the best for fashion!
What do you collect? I have 44 hats. I am African American with straight hair. Growing up in Detroit, our community is full of interracial prejudice, so early on, wearing a hat would keep me in "cog-negro" by covering up my good hair. I fortunately fell in love with hats as a result!

Last clothing item you purchased? A pair of Reunion Clothing white linen pants. I am going to the Virgin Islands next week and my fantasy has always been to take off some white linen pants on a secluded tropical beach.
Most money you ever spent on a single item of clothing? $1700 Donna Karan pinstriped suit.
What trend do you want to see die? Those brigadier general shirts with the 4 stars on the shoulders and the different color stripes. Are ya'll tryin' to be Forrest Whitaker in the movie The Last King of Scotland? Skulls and bones too. Why would you want the symbol for death on your body?
What is your favorite brand? Zoo York. Creative Director, Kimou Meyer is putting out beautiful graphics and Maurice Malone is always innovative with denim.
What do chicks dig about your style? That I can look smooth without it looking like I am trying too hard. Most say- you look good.
What do you see as the next big trend? Pants instead of jeans. I see more men dressing up. Suits even worn with sneakers. Obama is getting every community in the world styled.
What is your dream job? Detective on a TV show set in New Orleans during the 1930s.
Who is your dream date? Touring around Brazil with Adriana Lima.
Last book read?Truth: Personas, Needs, and Flaws in The Art of Building Actors and Creating Characters by Susan Batson. The author is also the coach of Nicole Kidman.
What is your trend proof style advice for our readers? Always keep your nails clean and wear a good pair of shoes. You could wear anything but with those two things people will always think you are respectable and that you respect yourself. Which is the key to everything.
How has the recession affected your life? I find that I get more of the things that I really want and need. Lately, I have to hustle more so I don't have enough time or energy to spread myself thin with the temporary thrills. I entertain myself with the people and experiences that will give me complete joy. It is a more conservative life, but it is an investment in a happiness that lasts over time.
