When LeBron James hits the free agent market this summer, his decision will ultimately come down to one important factor that shouldn't come as a surprise.

We’re only a few months away from revving up that free agency engine all over again and getting the LeBron James sweepstakes underway. Of course, it’s never too early to start planting the seed in LeBron’s head. Ask Knicks fans, who recently put a billboard facing the entrance of Madison Square Garden, challenging James to prove that he’s the King of New York by coming to the Big Apple this summer. Billboards attempting to lure The King are nothing new for him at this point. There have already been signs put up in Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Portland, and Cleveland.

In an interview with Cleveland.com’s Joe Vardon, James was asked about his thought process heading into the inevitable free agency period, and what will ultimately persuade him to go in one direction or another. "My family. That's all that matters," James said. "I want to continue to win at the highest level, because I know I can still do it as an individual, and then my family. My family is what's most important to me, more than anything."

As James enters what may sadly be the twilight of his NBA career, it's understandable where his priorities stand. At this point, money is no longer the motivating factor for LeBron who is making more than $1 billion off his Nike deal alone. Wherever The King goes, winning is sure to follow, especially if he stays in the Eastern Conference. After checking off those two boxes, the only concern remaining is that of his family.
