Ronda Rousey Apologizes for Posting a Photoshopped Picture of Herself on Social Media

Ronda Rousey posted a photo on Instagram without realizing her arms had been digitally altered.

Ronda Rousey is proud of her body and, in the past, she hasn’t shied away from letting people know about it. Last summer, she did an interview and responded to those who feel as though her body is too “masculine.”

“People like to say that my body looks masculine,” she said. “I’m like, ‘Listen, just because my body was developed for a purpose other than fucking millionaires doesn’t mean it’s masculine.’ I think it’s femininely badass as fuck because there isn’t a single muscle in my body that isn’t used for a purpose…I’m not a do nothing bitch.”

With that in mind, Rousey wasn’t happy when she realized that this photo had been posted to her Instagram account yesterday to promote her recent appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon:

At first glance, you probably wouldn’t even realize that the photo was altered before Rousey sent it out. But someone alerted her to the fact that her right arm was Photoshopped and made to look smaller in the photo. So last night, she reposted the photo alongside an untouched version of it and apologized to her fans for posting the Photoshopped picture in the first place. She also reiterated the fact that she is “extremely proud” of her body:

Rousey’s apology wasn’t really necessary. As she mentioned in her second post, it’s not like she was responsible for Photoshopping the picture. But she was still quick to set the record straight, and she should be applauded for doing it.
