Before tonight's game between the Thunder and the Lakers in Oklahoma City, Kobe Bryant and Kevin Durant met up on Friday night to grab a bite to eat. We wonder what was talked about between them. Hypothetically, and even though Kobe was not playing in this game, here is what I'd like to think Kobe said to KD: "Hey, my team is horrible this year, and I know you can score on anyone. Just don't make too many of us look bad out there, please? At least, for me, I'm out of it."
In this case, point taken and point scored by KD on this play. He had the ball on the drive versus the mismatched defensive skills of Lakers bigman Julius Randle. Even though both player's heights are around the 7-foot mark, KD just did Randle silly with this sick crossover and finish like he was playing at the Rucker Park tournament in Harlem during the summer. The only difference here is that in an NBA arena, no fans watching are allowed to storm the court, briefly stop the game, and act a fool in unison when they see someone's ankles get split or just left behind and forgotten on the way to the hoop like their Macaulay Culkin in Home Alone.
