Chris Paul is not only one of the NBA's most fiery competitors, but he's also someone who has a history of not taking any flack from the officials, especially if he feels like they aren't showing him the proper level of respect.

All of that was present on Tuesday, even though it was just the preseason.

Paul was evidently unhappy with an explanation he received from one of the referees, or at the very least, he felt slighted in the way it was communicated.  "I have two kids of my own," Paul said. "Don't talk to me like I'm a little kid."

And for that, he was tossed.

For what it's worth, it's well-known that Paul is constantly riding the officials in every single game from the moment it gets started. In fact, I was in Las Vegas over the summer at an AAU game Paul was coaching, and he had an ongoing dialogue with the referees there, too.

This particular set of words he uttered doesn't really seem worthy of an ejection, but then again, it could have just been the final straw in the eyes of the referee, who undoubtedly had already heard plenty from Paul over the course of the night.
