Being the worst team in the NBA sucks. But being a fan of the worst team in the NBA sucks even more since you don't get paid. However, something that sucks even more than that is being a fan of the worst team in the NBA, and then not even getting to see them get the No. 1 overall pick. Luckily 2014-15 Timberwolves fans didn't fall into that category. They watched their team suck their way through a 16-66 season, but their lottery 'W' rewarded them for their terrible play and gave them the first chance to fix their problems.

Tonight they took at shot at filling the holes of their leaky sunken boat by taking 19-year-old, 6'11center Karl-Anthony Towns out of the University ofKentucky. Last season, his only season in Lexington, Towns averaged 10.3 PPG, alongside 6.7 boards and 2.3 blocks per contest (the latter of which was good for second in the SEC). Those totals don't seem particularly impressive, but they came in just over 20 minutes a night due to UK's "platoon system."

Towns' efforts got him named a Consensus second team All-American as his team went undefeated until they bumped into Wisconsin in the Final Four. Now he bumps his way up to the (official) pro ranks where we'll see what he can do when partnered with the last two No. 1 overall picks: Anthony Bennett and Andrew Wiggins.
