Florida State Survives Clemson 23-17, Jameis is off the Hook

Florida State's Sean Maguire stepped into Jameis Winston's place and survived a scare from No. 22 Clemson.

*WHEW* That was close. Without suspended quarterback Jameis Winston, No. 1 Florida State needed a clutch takeaway late in the fourth quarter to prevent a regular time defeat to No. 22 Clemson

Sean Maguire, Winston's replacement, connected on a 74-yard bomb to tie the score in the fourth.

With the score tied at 17, Florida State got the ball back. Maguire overthrew an open receiver down field and got picked off inside his own half. All Clemson had to do was run the clock down and score.

Clemson running back C.J. Davidson fumbled. Oops. Florida State got the takeaway they needed. 

In overtime, Clemson turned the ball over on downs, and Florida State cruised in for a touchdown.
