Despite 64,964 career passing yard, five MVP awards, 13 Pro Bowls, and a Super Bowl ring, there was one thing Peyton Manning had yet to do on a football field: receive a taunting penalty.

Well, the wait is finally over.

It finally happened for Peyton last night in the Broncos vs. Texans preseason game, although he probably would have hoped for it to go down under better circumstances. After Manning completed a pass over the middle to Wes Welker, Texans safety D.J. Swearinger led with his shoulder and whacked Welker in the head, knocking him out of the game with a concussion.

On the next play, Manning hit new wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders for a touchdown, then immediately ran up to Swearinger to deliver some choice words.

You have to love Peyton’s fire here in the preseason. It’s good to know that for all the silly rapping and Papa John’s commercials, No. 18 is still a football player at heart who will come at you if you hurt his teammate.
