After the historical draft selection, the appraisal, and months of the media pushing a "gay agenda" (whatever the hell that means), we finally get to what should be at the heart of the Michael Sam saga: Can he play football in the NFL? Perhaps he can.

Sam recorded his first sack—a hard fought one—in the big leagues when he took down Matt Flynn for a 10-yard loss in the fourth quarter. Of course, this doesn't mean he's definitely an elite and every team failed by letting him fall on the draft board. He only recorded one tackle in his debut against the Saints. But there's the possibility he may have something. The man was SEC Co-Defensive Player of the Year, after all.
