San Francisco Residents Are Not Happy About the New Seahawks-Colored Seats Being Used on BART Trains

San Francisco 49ers fans are upset about the Seattle Seahawks-colored seats that are going to be used on new BART trains.

Take a look at the train seats in the photo above. They look like seats that would be used on a train in Seattle, right? They are, after all, covered with neon green and blue vinyl and appear to be the same color as the Seattle Seahawks uniforms. However, the photo that you see above does not depict train seats used in Seattle. Rather, it shows train seats that are going to be used in San Francisco.

That presents a big problem for the people of San Francisco. Because if you follow the NFL, you know that the San Francisco 49ers and the Seattle Seahawks are bitter rivals. So San Franciso residents do NOT want Bay Area Rapid Transit using the seats in the photo. And they have launched a petition to try and get BART to change the seat colors on their new trains because they consider them "a slap in the face of every San Francisco 49ers fan who rides BART." More than 1,000 people have signed that petition—which you can read over here—and more signatures are piling up by the hour.

We have to agree with the people who started the petition. We understand that BART probably just wants to brighten up peoples' days by adding some color to their trains. But they can't do it by adding seats that feature the Seahawks colors. So unless they want their brand-new trains to get vanadalized immediately, they should probably stick with a neutral color for their seats.
