Special Forces Are Getting Dead Silent Electric Motorbikes

A very clever use for electric motors.

Most of the time people are complaining about how electric motors make little to no noise, either for safety or aesthetic reasons, but now a group is finally taking advantage of that quirk: the US Special Operations Forces. Yup, Zero Motorcycles is putting together an off-road ready electric bike specifically for covert military use. All the lights can be turned off, and has built in infrared systems for soldiers using night vision goggles.

54 horsepower and 68 lb-ft of torque are one tap, and the battery packs can be swapped in just a minute or two in order to reduce down time. Oh, and it looks really cool.
