Did you know that when Larry Johnson originally agreed to a $1 million endorsement deal with Converse, he thought he was going to star in a commercial with Magic Johnson and Larry Bird? The concept that the sneaker company pitched to LJ was actually pretty dope. But once his signature was on the dotted line, they changed their mind and came up with a new campaign instead. And the rest is history.

Watch the clip above—which will air on the debut episode of Four Courses with JB Smoove tonight on the MSG Network at 9 p.m.—to hear Johnson talk about how he ended up becoming "Grandmama." It's kind of funny to hear how close he came to starring in a completely different sneaker commercial.
