It looked like Boston fans were going to be in for some crazy changes yesterday with all the trade rumors surrounding Doc Rivers, Paul Pierce, and Kevin Garnett. The Celtics and the Clippers were in talks of a trade deal centered around Rivers with the possibility of bringing Pierce and Garnett to LA. The question was if Los Angeles could possibly put up a large enough compensation for Boston to let Rivers out of the remaining three years and $21 million left in his contract.

The answer is a no. Specifically, the proposed deal sent DeAndre Jordan and two first-round picks to Boston for Rivers' signing rights and Garnett. The problem here was there was no Eric Bledsoe. Boston wanted him as well, but the Clippers wanted to save him for a trade deal with another team or in case Chris Paul left.

Another probable reason for the Clippers' attempts was to convince CP3 to resign with them, but at the very least he can appreciate the effort right?
