Yesterday, the New York Mets came back from down three runs in the bottom of the 9th inning to win the game, 4-3. Kirk Nieuwenhuis, who delivered the three-run, game-winning home run, was met at home plate by his teammates who congratulated him and celebrated the win altogether. Obviously, this season, like many other seasons before, the Mets are a punching bag for low brow jokes—we're guilty of it too—and following the game, Bob Costas took a shot at the Metropolitans, saying, "...a team fourteen games under .500 celebrates as if it just won the seventh game of the World Series. Another indication of the ongoing decline of western civilization."

Really? Bad joke, Bob. Just a bad decision. You know what else was a bad decision? That time you quoted controversial writer Jason Whitlock when discussing "gun culture" following Jovan Belcher incident. Just saying.
