Also recognized as a world heavyweight champion wrestler, Bronko Nagurski was an all-around athlete. After a brief retirement following the 1937 season Nagurski returned in 1943 to play for his Bears. Nagurski scored the go-ahead touchdown during the '43 championship game against the 'Skins and with that he guaranteed that he would go out on top. He would return to his wrestling career after football where he continued to excel.
