Ford has been out of the minivan game for 5 years. And, let's face it previous attempts weren't spectacular—don't forget, Ford passed on the design that ended up being the Dodge Caravan too.
Times, however, are changing. Dearborn's finest is back with the new Transit Connect Wagon, a 7-seater with industry best 30 mpg. Mark Fields, Ford's new Chief Operating Officer, describes the vehicle as "an all-new, smaller seven-seater that has better mileage than larger vans and creates a segment of its own." The European design certainly differs from the American competition.
Could this be the return of the minivan?
