It sounds like the Washington Wizards are going to start the 2012-13 NBA season the same way they finished the 2011-12 season—down in the dumps. The team just announced that their star point guard John Wall will miss the next eight weeks of basketball because of a stress injury to his left patella. He won't need surgery. But, he will need to begin rehab immediately so that he doesn't miss too much of the start of the season.

"I will work extremely hard to make sure I get back as soon as possible so I can re-join [my teammates] and help our team continue to improve," Wall said in a statement that was issued through the team today.

Get well soon, man. We're sure you already know this, but the Wizards are going to be terrible without you.
